  Canteen was located in the Mac but now here.
  However the standard doesn't seem to be the same.
  
  Tray bakes and scones don't look great.
  
  Very expensive for what you get. Food was lovely. But if I was paying this price range I would go to somewhere like general merchants for food of better quality for the price.
  
  Staff could also be a bit more enthusiastic.

  Safe to say we weren't impressed. The Canteen went through a revamp in last few months. The menu has been streamlined and they are now open past 5pm on Thurs to Saturday.
  
  We popped in for lunch and found the place mostly empty, despite passing packed out eateries on the way, never a good sign. The staff came across as unenthusiastic and the restaurant lacked any atmosphere.
  
  The lunch menu consists mostly of £8 or £9 sandwiches or salads. It was difficult to find something I found appealing and for the price, I expected more. We usually indulge in a cuppa and some cake, but we only found some lacklustre tray bakes and scones.
  
  In the competitive Belmont Area I'm amazed they've managed to last this long. Hopefully they find their grove soon.

  Family friendly, huge play area at the back of the cafe. Food is good quality and very nicely presented. Staff are very friendly which I find nice even when the place is very busy. The club sandwiches and soup are definitely worth a try.
